Deadmau5 is dead (to me)

I swear I’m never buying any of his records again.

“It puts me to fucking sleep to be quite honest, I don’t really see the technical merit in playing two songs at the same speed together and it bores me to fucking tears and hopefully with all due respect to the dj type that will fucking go the way of the dinosaur id like them to dis-a-fucking-pear. Joel continued, its so middle man, they’re like fucking lawyers. You need them, but they’re fucking ****s. God bless them they’re my number one customer right so I’m not gonna go diss every fucking DJ. But to say you become this massive up on a podium performer by playing other peoples productions at the same speed as someone else’s productions and fading between the two of them, I don’t get it.” (Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5)

Truth is you have to hear him play to understand how much he doesn’t “get it” or know shit about deejaying. And that, to me, is the real issue.

When you don’t know, don’t patronize. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. This is just plain lame.

Ungrateful moron alert. Spread the word.

  1. Ahahah.

  3. Nuff said. I received an invitation on facebook to join the “boycot Deadrat” group, didn’t think this would happen to a popular guy like him.

  4. He sounds like a little angry kid, not sure what motivates him to say something like this.
Joel should watch a guy like John Digweed to see what it’s like to play other peoples records and built up a set that takes the crowd on a musical journey through various styles instead of just playing variations of ones own productions.

  5. WTF ? And what is he doing at every gig ? Rah mais je suis déçu… Alors que le mec viens quand meme de nous sortir “the reward is more cheese”. Puis alors ses djs sets zero créativité pour le coup, c’est halucinant que sa sorte de lui, surtout pour un mec aussi commercial.

    Bouh

  6. Thats just retarded..
I agree with J.T. Parker .. he sounds like an angry kid
Very immature, maybe is what he is..
    I never liked deadmau5 anyway..
    Thumbs down for him

  7. What drives me really nuts is that he seems to forget that for a lot of us deejaying doesn’t pay the bills yet. It’s a tough business and if *he* was lucky to succeed, it’s mostly because DJs supported his songs in the first place.

He’s just an ungrateful prick who doesn’t deserve to be where he is right now.

And now he’s licking Armin Van Buren’s balls in his latest blog entry on MySpace. Which is just sad.

  10. man don’t take it so personal : )

the mouse is sometimes crazy and he shouts at people who annoy him….
lots of wannabe-s in the scene yo knnow
    that’s his message

don’t take it personal, you fall in the wrong net

  11. I see your point man, xplore, but it’s still too condescending for my taste. So what if they are a lot of wannabees out there? They deserve their fair share of fun like everybody else. Nobody’s bound to succeed. But it doesn’t mean you have to take shit from guys who did.

  12. I hope he doesn’t play here.
Never liked him ever, don’t know whats the hype about him when he’s been featured as some Best newcomer to the scene.

  13. well to extend the discussion,
i think (after reading again all posts) people here are right, and also right to be mad at the mouse.
i still support his ass:) but i am also mad at his attitude…

i know he got where he is because….well his talent in producing, and also very good marketing and PR…he was one of the lucky dudes to get very good promotion….and very good support out there….the step was done, the mouse is in the plane and out there to do his dirty deeds :P

anyway, i feel his tracks are good, when i listen to them, when i play them, not bad at all,
but also i know he can be a b*it*ch :PP it’s his attitude in the 1st place that made him take his name, he’s very freaky to me….
but still remains, for me of course, one of the best newcomers and a very good producer (in spite of what he says and what he thinks of deejays, bad, bad)

i say respect to deadmau5 producing, booo to his attitude :)
i think he needs a private PR for his communication with the outside, to shape him a bit :P

  15. Hahahaha. Same shit could be said about his “work” which hasn’t evolve much since his big hits. Let the guy go where he wants to. He doesn’t deserve more attention…

  16. lol, did someone said “his talent in production”? You mean his tracks can’t be made in Fruity Loops in 1 hour? haha. I mean seriously. Just get a kick and a clap. Side-chain the synth and you’re 90% there. The rest is making it so boring that the shit puts you to sleep.

  17. He is a bit of an ass in the way he says it but in all honesty he is right. I don’t take offense to these words I take them as inspiration and we all should. We must innovate!

  20. Any true artist exudes gratitude in all s/he does, because s/he has a GIFT to share with others. Ego stands in the way of creativity and true grace and power. Poor DM, he is a fool because he’s been given a GIFT, but does not even appreciate it. Just my opinion, but your tracks kick the SHIT out of DM’s Faskil, because they are real and honest, and your ego does not get in the way of what you are expressing. Keep it real!
